ReplyDeletethe media influence is such that the language in the textbooks seem to differ. Students peer acceptance mostly depends on the words or lingual that the is used in the teleseries.
ReplyDeletewhere they use slang and codes . This impact makes the textual language boring and mundane for the students.
In my classroom, the language spoken by children in their daily lives is simple, informal, and influenced by their local dialect or mother tongue, whereas the language used in textbooks is more formal, standard, and grammatically structured. For example, a child may say, "Ami school-e jabo"in bengali language or use local expressions while talking with friends, but the textbook presents complete and standard sentences in the prescribed language. This difference may make it difficult for children to understand new concepts. Therefore, I first communicate in their familiar language and gradually connect it with the textbook language. This approach, as encouraged by the FLN Mission makes learning easier, meaningful, and more enjoyable.
