  3. Being from West Bengal, one of the most famous indigenous learning materials is the wooden toys and dolls of Natungram (Burdwan) and clay dolls of Krishnanagar (Nadia). These traditional toys are colourful, safe, and culturally rich, making them excellent teaching-learning resources for young children. In the Foundational and Preparatory stages, I can use these toys for storytelling, role play, and language development by encouraging children to describe the toys, create stories, and express their ideas. They can also be used to teach counting, sorting, pattern making, colours, shapes, and basic mathematical concepts.
