ReplyDeleteYes it is very necessary to start learning language with the alphabets because what language they speak they should be able to read and write. Reading and writing can be done skillfully if they know the alphabets. Sequence is important because it helps them to memorize and recognise the letters or words.

ReplyDeletemore than sequence its the letter and its sound that matters . I strongly believe that learning of language should start with reading word/ small sentences and making them aware of sounds as they go on reading . Sequence can learnt later than the usage of letters

ReplyDeleteIn my childhood our teachers recitate the alphabet to simple words and finally go to sentence. Those steps lead us a good learner.

First they will find same rhyming words in poems
Then gradually we start letters and sounds
If child can identify letter in any print material and child can say sound of it then no need to learn sequence of alphabet
I think showing them familiar objects and asking them to name those will not only aware them of phonology but also the alphabet of the word and then we don't need any sequences
ReplyDeleteChildren should begin with listening, speaking, reading and then writing. They should listen to stories, rhymes, narrate stories and converse with others. This helps them to develop language. They need not learn alphabets first,
ReplyDeletePupils must know lellers first. in different languages including their mother tongue this can be developed by listening speaking reading and writing , expressing in their own way.what they learnt from their Life experiences. .

First we should start normal conversation in that language in the classroom with the help of mother tongue as it can bridge in understanding... facilitator must use gestures along with words to make the meaning more clear to them after developing some familiarity with that language he/she can start with writing part

ReplyDeleteKnowing, identification and sound association of letters are more important than knowing their sequence . Not knowing the Sequence will not harm the oral and written skills of the students
